Adopting Performance-Based Funding in Higher Ed
The Ohio legislature is considering a new model of higher education funding that is based on the success of public colleges and universities to retain and graduate students. As education funding turns its attention to college success, the move by the legislature is well timed. As we continue to invest in great access to higher education, there is an increasing need to ensure colleges and universities have even more directed incentives to graduate students. Wisely, the new formula will be adjusted for open access colleges and universities and for the degree to which schools are serving 'at risk students.'
