Basil Demeroutis

Basil is Managing Partner of FORE Partnership, a private investment Club focused on UK and European commercial real estate, designed by and operated exclusively for wealthy families that seek an alternative way to gain exposure to property investments. FORE’s unique structure as a direct, deal-by-deal club provides a highly aligned solution for private capital. A central part of FORE’s approach is to fully integrate what it calls “Responsible Real Estate” strategies as a means of enhancing financial returns. These strategies encompass traditional energy, water and waste concepts, but also go deeper into built environment issues and the role buildings play in our daily lives more broadly.

Basil has 22 years of experience in finance and European real estate.  Basil spent the first half of his career in banking where he financed aircraft, satellites, ships and other cash flowing assets, including real estate.  Basil moved to the buy-side in 2002, and over the last 13 years he has been working exclusively with private investors on their real estate strategies. Previously a Partner of Capricorn Investment Group, a family office with over $5 billion in total assets, Basil was responsible for the $500+ million global Real Assets portfolio, oversaw the firm’s overall business in Europe, and served as a member of the firm’s global investment committee.  Basil was previously a Managing Partner at Jargonnant Partners, a European real estate fund where he shared responsibility for acquiring, managing and successfully exiting a €400 million property portfolio.  Prior to Jargonnant, he spent 13 years in investment banking working for ING Barings, Bear Stearns and Bankers Trust (Deutsche Bank) in a variety of corporate finance roles in both New York and London.

Basil holds a BSc in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University and has been based in London and Munich since 1998.
