Since 2005, Mission Measurement has been a recognized leader in measuring and improving social outcomes for the world’s leading philanthropies, non-profits, governments, and corporations, including Google, Disney, Coca Cola, The Gates Foundation, Ashoka, and more. Through our custom consulting and thought leadership, we created the Impact Genome Project – the largest social sector evidence base in the world – to enable a data-driven approach to uncover what works to drive social change. This pioneering effort has led to advances in our product offerings and the creation of standardized approaches to measurement and reporting to help advance and develop key benchmarks across the social sector. The Position

Mission Measurement (MM) is a commercial enterprise with an exclusive focus on transforming the social sector that is looking for dynamic, entrepreneurial self-starters. The Associate, Market Development (AMD) position is a business development position, measured by client acquisition and revenue generation. MM’s market development strategies are achieved through a combination of channel partner marketing, direct sales, and thought leadership. The role is based in Chicago, but focused on North America, particularly the U.S. and Canada.  The AMD will be responsible for growing existing client relationships, cultivating new channel partnerships, identifying new ways to bring our products and expertise to market, and networking with leaders in the field – all to the end of generating leads and growing the number of clients on MM’s platform.



The Individual

The successful candidate has a proven track record in sales or fundraising with a passion for change in the social sector.  Specifically, the right candidate is:

  • A business-getter. Can convert customer passion, interest, and inquiry into sales and client acquisition. Knows how to qualify leads, guide the client to the right solution and manage the sales process, and close business. Has a commercial mindset and a passion for growing revenue and client acquisition.
  • A deal-maker. Has a nose for the right partners and can quickly cut through the distractions to focus on the highest-value opportunities. Has a keen entrepreneurial sensibility and knows how to maximize the value of partnerships and convert them into revenue.
  • A self-starter. Is not intimidated by ambiguity and can create a gameplan, execute that plan, develop internal and external relationships, and lead on his or her own. Has the gumption and creativity to maximize MM’s network, customer relationships, brand, and investors to drive business growth.
  • A thought-leader. Can command presence among potential clients through knowledge of the field, thought leadership, speaking, networking, leading webinars, and taking the lead on other external-facing initiatives.
  • A purpose-driven leader. Has a passion to change the world through business and has a demonstrated track-record and commitment to that purpose.


Performance Goals

Success for this position will be evaluated based on the following KPIs:

  • # qualified leads generated per month
  • $ revenue generated per quarter
  • Degree of success in building and leveraging partnerships
